Lead acid battery for forklift

Price range: $590.00 through $5,430.00

The application advantages of lead-acid batteries in forklifts
1. High discharge rate and instantaneous output power: Lead acid batteries can release energy at a discharge rate of up to 5C when instantaneous traction is required, with an instantaneous output power of several hundred amperes, perfectly matching the frequent start stop working characteristics of forklifts.
2. Long cycle life and economy: Lead sulfate crystals on the surface of lead-acid battery plates can be reversibly reduced during charging, and this “self-healing” characteristic allows it to withstand more than 1500 deep cycles. In addition, the manufacturing cost of lead-acid batteries is only one-third of that of lithium batteries of the same capacity, making them particularly suitable for industrial scenarios that require large-scale battery pack configurations
3. Excellent low-temperature performance: In a low-temperature environment of minus 20 ℃, lead-acid batteries can still maintain over 80% of their effective capacity, while lithium batteries exhibit significant performance degradation
4. Technological innovation: Forklift specific batteries using tubular positive plates have a cycle life that can be more than three times that of traditional starter batteries. The special alloy grid design allows the battery to have a service life of over 5 years.

A lead-acid battery pack is composed of multiple single-cell batteries connected in series, with each cell having a voltage of approximately 2V. Therefore, there are two common battery voltages: 6V and 12V. The core components of a battery pack include plates, separators, electrolyte, and casing. The electrode plate is made of lead antimony alloy, and the separator is used to prevent short circuits caused by contact between the positive and negative electrodes. The electrolyte is a mixture of pure sulfuric acid and distilled water. The casing is used to encapsulate the electrolyte and plates, maintaining the integrity of the battery.

Maintenance and upkeep methods
1. Electrolyte management: Strictly control the electrolyte density within the range of 1.24-1.28g/cm ³, and keep the liquid level 10-15mm above the electrode plate. When the density deviation of a single cell battery exceeds 0.05g/cm ³, balanced charging must be carried out to extend the life of the battery pack
2‌. Charging curve control: Adopting a three-stage charging strategy: fast charging during the constant current stage, precise control of gas evolution reaction during the constant voltage stage, and fine energy compensation during the float charging stage. This scientific charging method can increase the charging efficiency to 92% while controlling the water loss rate
3. Temperature monitoring: When the battery temperature exceeds 45 ℃, the intelligent system will automatically adjust the charging parameters to avoid the risk of thermal runaway
